Kwasi Kwarteng blames himself and Liz Truss for Tory election defeat
Kwasi Kwarteng appeared to take the blame for the Tory election defeat - but insists it “wasn’t the only ingredient.”
Referencing his mini-Budget disaster with Liz Truss, he said on Good Morning Britain: “We went too far too fast. It was too much for the markets to swallow.”
However, he cited Reform’s success in the election and their growth since that incident as a reason that it wasn’t entirely his fault, adding: “I think there were mistakes made in the last 18 months.”
