Keir Starmer pushes PM to back Elections Bill to combat overseas political donations
Sir Keir Starmer asked Boris Johnson to back changes to the Elections Bill to combat donations from overseas sources.
Mr Johnson replied: “We have very tough laws, tough rules, in this country to stop foreign donations, we don’t accept foreign donations, you have to be on the UK electoral register to give to a UK political party.”
The Labour leader recently sparked outrage by saying the UK can take advantage of the “opportunities” of Brexit during a visit to the north east of England.
