Hikers suffering heat exhaustion airlifted from Arizona trail amid scorching temperatures
Hikers in Arizona had to be airlifted to safety after suffering from heat-related illness while walking along the Siphon Draw Trail in a heatwave.
Rescuers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety descend via helicopter to reach the stranded hikers.
Both patients were hoisted off the trail and turned over to Superstition Fire and Medical for heat exhaustion.
This rescue was one of two heat-related incidents on 23 July, when a heatwave was sweeping the state.
The second rescue took place involving three dirt bikers who broke down and were suffering from heat exhaustion on a trail north of Crown King.
Everyone caught out in the heat was rescued and given medical treatment.
