Tropical Storm Calvin swirls on approach to Hawaii as emergency declared
Satellite footage shows Tropical Storm Calvin swirling on its approach to Hawaii on Tuesday, 18 July.
A state of emergency was declared for more than one million people in the US state.
On Wednesday, the National Weather Service (NWS) downgraded it to a post-tropical cyclone.
Up to 10 inches of rain are predicted to fall on Thursday, the weather service said.
Though the post-tropical cyclone passed by Hawaii with no injuries or significant damage, governor Josh Green warned that the state’s hurricane season is only just underway.
“Stay tuned, because we have several months left,” Mr Green said.
