Hares stand up on hind legs and fight
A pair of hares were spotted boxing in a Norfolk field on April 2. Photographer Paula Cooper, who shot this footage near Swaffham, said she pulled over “and was watching a number brown hares on some local fields when this pair ran right in front of me and began boxing.” According to The Woodland Trust, boxing between hares usually breaks out “when a male is being too persistent with a female, chasing her across fields in an attempt to mate.” Cooper said the duo began eating shortly after she stopped filming, with “the female giving the male an odd glare.”
