Watch: Elderly women released by Hamas after 16-day kidnap ordeal as British daughter arrives in Israel
Two elderly Israeli women who were held hostage by Hamas for 16 days were released on Monday evening (23 October).
Yocheved Lifshitz, 85, and Nurit Cooper, 79, were handed over to the Red Cross at the Rafah crossing in Egypt before being transferred to Israel.
Ms Lifshitz has family in the UK - her daughter, who is based in London, confirmed her mother had been freed after a 16-day kidnap ordeal.
Footage shows the two women being helped into ambulances by medical workers and staff from the Red Cross.
