Children dance and play on train tracks as Network Rail issue half term safety warning
Shocking photos and videos shared in a new Network Rail campaign show reckless parents risking their children’s lives by encouraging them to play and pose for selfies on busy railway lines.
In one picture taken at an unnamed crossing, a father and two boys appear to be taking photographs of an approaching train.
The youngest boy even has a tripod set up on the track while the man stares down the lens of his camera.
In another video, a father casually stands in the middle of the track while his two young daughters - wearing bike helmets - walk on the live rails.
The youngest girl then says: “Come on train. There’s a train coming.”
Network Rail released the video compilation to warn people about the dangers of playing on live railway crossings ahead of half term.
