Ex-GB News chairman Andrew Neil reveals surprise at Ofcom ‘tolerance’
GB News ex-chairman Andrew Neil has expressed his surprise at broadcast regulator Ofcom allowing politicians sitting in the House of Commons to present political television programs.
While giving evidence to the Lords Communications and Digital Committee’s inquiry into the future of news yesterday (23 April), he claimed he would have never allowed politicians from the same party to interview each other.
He said: "On these areas, Ofcom needs to find a backbone and quick."
Neil also speculated reasons for Ofcom's “leniency” during his evidence.
