Moment Eleanor Williams buys hammer to injure herself and falsely accuse men of rape
CCTV footage shows Eleanor Williams buying a hammer which she used to injure herself, before falsely accusing a number of men of rape.
The 22-year-old, of Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, was on Tuesday (14 March) sentenced to eight and a half years in prison after falsely claiming to have been the victim of an Asian grooming gang.
In a Facebook post from May 2020, Williams shared pictures of her injuries, but a court heard that she had caused them to herself, with a hammer.
Footage released by Cumbria Constabulary shows her buying the tool, which she used to injure herself.
