‘I didn’t even have to paraglide’: Ed Davey pokes fun at antics as he thanks Lib Dem supporters
Ed Davey poked fun at his string of election antics during his speech, after the Liberal Democrats won a record number of seats.
“Because we were showing a fun side we were able to show our serious policies. When I fell of the paddle board in Lake Windermere we talked about the sewage scandal”, he told supporters, before quipping: “...And I didn’t even have to paraglide in!”
He finished off by dancing and singing a rendition of ‘Sweet Caroline’.
Ed Davey’s majority in his own seat of Kingston and Surbiton rose from 11,000 to 17,000.
