Moment ‘oblivious’ lorry driver uses elbow to steer 12-wheeler down motorway

Police caught a driver using just his elbow to steer a 12-wheel car transporter on a busy motorway in Warwickshire.

National Highways, who released footage of the incident on the M40 near Gaydon, said the driver was initially “oblivious” to the officers filming him before quickly putting his hands on the wheel when police caught his attention.

Other incidents recorded by officers show a driver texting on a mobile phone and not wearing a seatbelt while driving a horsebox and a woman was participating in a video call while holding a mobile phone as she drove.
