Donald Trump meets followers in Miami cafe after pleading not guilty to felony charges
Donald Trump met supporters as he made a surprise trip to a cafe in Miami after pleading not guilty to 37 charges over his handling of classified national security documents after leaving the White House.
The 77-year-old former US president declared “food for everyone” at the Versailles restaurant in Little Havana.
Mr Trump is the first current or former US president to ever face federal criminal charges.
Addressing the reason he allegedly failed to return boxes of classified documents, Mr Trump said: “In addition to having every right under the Presidential Records Act, is that these boxes were containing all types of personal belongings.”
