Dolphin pod swimming off UK coast surprises lifeboat team

A playful pod of dolphins gave a volunteer RNLI crew off the Dorset coast a little surprise as they circled and swam round the lifeboat.

Volunteers from Poole RNLI had just completed a service call in Poole Bay when they received a visit from some finned friends.

Poole RNLI volunteer helm Alex Evans said: “We were just returning from our 25th call out this year so it’s already been a busy start for us. It was a welcome, but unusual sight for us to see and they seemed to be as intrigued with the lifeboat as we were with them.”
