Mother of murder victim says fatal Croydon stabbing echoes ‘what killed her son’
Youth campaigner Pastor Lorraine Jones, mother of Dwayne Simpson, says the murder of a 15-year-old schoolgirl in Croydon reminded her of “what killed my son”.
Simpson was stabbed in the heart as he tried to protect his friend in a “senseless killing” in south London in February 2014.
He was 20 years old.
Speaking on Sky News, Ms Jones launched an emotional appeal for “help” when asked what the Mayor of London should do to end knife crime.
“It reminds me of what killed my son,” she said, following the killing of a “much loved” 15-year-old girl who was stabbed on her way to school.
“It’s a state of emergency. We need the help to help them”.
