Watch: Clive Myrie pays emotional tribute to ‘much loved’ George Alagiah on BBC News
BBC News presenter Clive Myrie paid an emotional tribute to his “much loved” colleague and friend George Alagiah this lunchtime.
The presenter was visibly upset when reporting the sad death of his colleage, who died on Monday following his battle with bowel cancer.
Myrie said: “On a personal note, George touched all of us here at in the BBC newsroom with his kindness and generosity, his warmth and his good humour. I loved him as mentor, colleague and friend.”
Naga Munchetty also burst into tears live on BBC Radio Five today as she announced George’s death at the age of 67.
