What is Stiff Person Syndrome?
Celine Dion canceled the rest of her world tour following her diagnosis of an incurable neurological condition.
"I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again", wrote the singer on her Instagram on Friday (26 May).
"I’m working really hard to build back my strength."
Her announcement comes six months after she posted a video explaining that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) defines SPS as a progressive disorder, characterised by “stiff muscles in the trunk (torso), arms, and legs; and greater sensitivity to noise, touch, and emotional distress, which can set off muscle spasms.”
