Moment man deliberately drives car into UK theatre during rush hour
This is the moment a man deliberately drove his car into a theatre during a busy rush hour.
Richard Kelly, 47, drove his Ford Puma into Darlington Hippodrome at high speed on 7 March.
The incident was captured on CCTV and shows his car narrowly missing other vehicles and pedestrians as it careered across Parkgate.
Kelly, who had not been wearing a seatbelt and smelled strongly of alcohol, was helped out of the car and taken to hospital suffering from broken ribs. Nobody else was injured.
He was charged with dangerous driving and was sentenced to 12 months in prison when he appeared at Teeside Crown Court on 1 May.
