Canada wildfire smoke seen from space in ISS footage
Footage from the International Space Station shows how the smoke from wildfires burning in Canada is visible from space.
At least 35,000 people in British Columbia have been placed under evacuation orders as a state of emergency was declared for the province.
Non-essential travel has been banned to free up accommodations for evacuees and firefighters.
Air quality has been measured at a “hazardous” level of above 350 in some cities in British Columbia, according to air quality information platform IQAir.
