Boris Johnson was ‘nipping out’ of Covid meetings to pick out wallpaper, says Starmer

Keir Starmer has accused Boris Johnson of 'nipping out' of Covid meetings to pick out wallpaper for the £88,000 refurbishment of his Downing Street flat.

The labour leader asked the prime minister: "What does he spending his time doing?”, before telling MP’s the PM has been “nipping out of meetings to choose wallpaper”, and phoning journalists to “moan about his old friend Dominic Cummings”.

Boris Johnson repeatedly dodged questions during prime ministers questions on the refurbishment of his flat and failed to deny that Lord Brownlow initially put forward the money, as suggested in a leaked email from last autumn.
