Boris Johnson struggles to turn on Downing Street Christmas lights

Boris Johnson was filmed struggling to switch on the Christmas tree lights in Downing Street with a large crowd present.

Mr Johnson was accompanied by a group of children and asked them: “Do you think this Christmas will be considerably better than last Christmas?” to which they responded with an enthusiastic “Yes!”.

This comes after the Health Secretary has urged people attending Christmas parties to take a Covid lateral flow test before attending events.
