Raab says government will ‘look at’ housing migrants and asylum seekers on barges
Dominic Raab has suggested that the government will “look at” housing migrants and asylum seekers on barges while their claims are processed.
The deputy prime minister added that “ex-military barracks” could be another possible option and that “nothing is off the table”.
“We must end, if you like this perverse incentive, through the hotels and more generally with the hospitality this country gives, encouraging the wrong people - which is the criminal gangs and illegal migrants - to make this journey,” Mr Raab said.
