Will Young admits drastic action he almost took with sledgehammer to get out of Strictly
Will Young has revealed he considered breaking his own leg with a sledgehammer to get out of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2016.
The singer, 45, has candidly spoken about suffering panic attacks “24 hours a day” before he pulled out of the competition.
Speaking to Elizabeth Day on Wednesday’s (24 April) How to Fail podcast, the Pop Idol winner described the drastic action he almost took as he thought he “wouldn’t get in trouble” for the physical ailment.
“I thought mental health... no-one’s gonna... If I break my leg, you can’t really be nasty about that,” Young explained.
“You think 2016, not that long ago... when I left it was mental health awareness week.”
