Intimacy coordinator Ita O’Brien on how to choreograph the perfect sex scene
Ever wondered how sex scenes are staged? What about how actors make it through filming without getting too…excited? This week, we chat with intimacy coach Ita O’Brien, who specialises in developing sex scenes for film, television and theatre. Ita has worked on shows such as Normal People, Sex Education and I May Destroy You, helping to make actors feel more comfortable on set. She talks to Olivia Petter about how she choreographs *those* scenes, what happens when things get too hot and heavy for the actors, and why in the past, sex scenes have been ripe for abuse and exploitation.
