Mother gives birth to premature baby weighing just 11oz

A young mother has given birth to a premature baby weighing just 11oz.

Ellie Paton, 17, was warned her child Hannah might not survive due to her tiny size after she had a C-section at 25 weeks.

The tiny tot was given just a 20 per cent chance of pulling through by doctors after arriving shortly after Ms Paton woke up on 29 December 2021 with stomach and chest pains.

Hannah, now in an incubator, was born a day later despite a due date of April 2022.
