Mysterious lights flicker across London skies, and it’s not aurora borealis

Mysterious lights flickered above London’s skies on Monday evening (27 February), but they were not the northern lights as seen by other parts of the UK.

The aurora borealis was visible across several areas in the UK on Monday, including the Highlands, Wiltshire, and Norfolk.

Cloudier skies on Tuesday have decreased the chances of spotting the northern lights for a third night in a row, Met Office spokesperson Graham Madge said.

“The levels of solar activity are now reducing... the chances of a sighting are now severely limited,” he added.
