Hundreds of lemons spill on New Jersey highway after truck overturns
Hundreds of lemons were spilled across a New Jersey highway on Wednesday, 2 August, after a tractor trailer overturned.
A crash was reported on Route 17 near Mountainside Avenue at around 10am that morning.
The truck appeared to be in the northbound lanes when it lost control and the container carrying the fruit dislodged from the trailer, breaking open and sending the lemons cascading into the southbound lanes.
All lanes were closed after the crash.
At least one southbound lane of traffic appeared to be moving by noon on Wednesday.
