Flying Scotsman arrives in County Durham as it completes final railway tour of 2023
The Flying Scotsman arrived at the Locomotion museum in Shildon, County Durham, on Thursday 14 December as it completed its final main line tour of 2023.
Enthusiasts across England have been able to catch a glimpse of the world-famous, 100-year-old steam locomotive on the railway in recent months, as part of its centenary celebrations.
It will now go on static display at the Locomotion museum from 16 December to 7 January 2024.
The 97-tonne locomotive was built in Doncaster in 1923 and is now owned by the National Railway Museum in York.
