Flight attendant reveals why the crew greets you as you board the plane

An American flight attendant has revealed the reason why cabin crew “look you up and down” as they greet you when you board a plane.

In a TikTok uploaded this week, Kat Kamalani, from Salt Lake City in Utah, explained that staff are looking for passengers who can help in case of an emergency when they welcome people on board.

According to Kamalani, the process - which also takes place when flight attendants walk up and down the aisle before takeoff - is to find the flight’s ABPs, or “able-bodied people”.
