Inside BARK Air’s $8000 dog-friendly flights - with canine champagne and ‘barkaccinos’
Dog champagne, “barkaccinos” and shoes are all on the menu during BARK Air’s $8000 one-way flights for dogs.
The new airline will transport dogs of all sizes and their people “in comfort and in style,” according to CEO Matt Meeker.
Its maiden voyage is due to take off today, 23 May, from New York to Los Angeles.
Mr Meeker says the idea for the flights came after he was unable to travel with his Great Dane without having him in the cargo hold, and wants to treat dogs as a “member of the family.”
Tickets cost $8,000 for a one-way international flight and $6,000 for a domestic trip for one dog and one human companion.
