Coperni handbag made out of 99 percent air debuts at Paris Fashion Week
A handbag made out of 99 percent air has made its debut at Paris Fashion Week.
Coperni showcased the Air Swipe bag, which is made of Nasa’s nanomaterial silica aerogel, the lightest solid on Earth.
The delicate nanomaterial has been used by Nasa to capture stardust because it can withstand extreme heat (1200o Celsius) and a pressure of 4000 times its weight.
The handbag has been developed by Professor Ioannis Michaloudis and is the largest object ever created with the nanomaterial, and only weighs about 33 grams.
Coperni shared a closer look at the handbag on Instagram on Monday (4 March).
