Tiny owl found hiding in family’s Christmas tree in Kentucky

A Kentucky family got more than they bargained for when they bought their Christmas tree this year - a tiny owl.

Lexington resident Michele White told WDKY-TV they had the tree in their home for four days and didn’t notice anything unusual until Bobby Hayes came to clean their carpets and noticed the tree swaying after plugging in a piece of equipment.

Mr Hayes recalled the bird was sitting on a lower branch before climbing into the tree.

The owl was rescued from inside the tree and set free.
