ITV funding counselling for Phillip Schofield after resignation, says CEO
Phillip Schofield is receiving counselling from ITV on his request, the broadcaster’s chief executive told a parliamentary committee on Wednesday, 14 June.
The former presenter was dropped by his talent agency and resigned from the broadcaster after admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague.
Answering questions on ITV’s approach to safeguarding and complaint handling, Dame Carolyn McCall told the Culture, Media, and Sport (CMS) Committee that Schofield is receiving counselling and the younger colleague has received “aspects of duty of care”, though he has left the company, as recently as last week.
