Great British Bake Off contestant breaks down in tears as he becomes first to be eliminated from show
It was an emotional first episode of The Great British Bake Off as contestant Amos cried upon hearing he would be the first baker to leave the show.
The 43-year-old struggled through the showstopper challenge, as judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith asked them to make an “animal cake”.
Amos made a whale-shaped cake but failed to impress the judges, who told him it was “bone dry.
After his elimination, Amos said: “It was the showstopper that stopped my show. As soon as I heard my name I came out of my body.”
He then broke down in tears and walked away from the camera for a moment before returning and saying: “Sorry, I’m fine.”
