The Great British Bake Off judges struggle to keep a straight face after baker makes beaver cake
The Great British Bake Off has returned for another series - and the first episode was all about animal cakes and innuendos.
Contestant Nicky baked a beaver-shaped cake for the animal-themed showstopper challenge.
“I’m not even sure I know what a beaver looks like,” Prue Leith said, prompting laughter in the Bake Off tent.
As Nicky brought the cake to the judges’ table, Leith said: “So, Nicky, tell us about your beaver,” sparking further laughs.
Later, Paul Hollywood bemoaned the “bone dry” beaver cake, with Bake Off’s new presenter, Alison Hammond replying “I don’t like dry beavers”. All the innuendos left her fellow host, Noel Fielding, asking: “Am I in a Carry On film?”
