BBC News mistake Eurovision superfan for Finland’s act in awkward interview
The BBC awkwardly interviewed a Eurovision superfan after mistaking him for Finland’s act on Tuesday 9 May.
Viewers of BBC North West Tonight were confused after a presenter claimed she “managed to catch up” with Käärijä, who had just performed in front of a packed arena in Liverpool.
Text even appeared under the fan’s face, labelling him as the “Finland entrant”.
However, Eurovision fans were quick to point out that the person interviewed was not Käärijä, and was instead a superfan dressed in a similar outfit.
