Elvis Presley’s best friend has opened up on the singer’s tragic death.

Presley was just 42 when he died on 16 August, 1977. He was discovered face down on the bathroom floor of his Graceland home.

Mystery surrounds his cause of death, after his family remained tight-lipped about the singer’s autopsy results

Speaking on This Morning on Wednesday (25 October), Presley’s best friend, Jerry Schilling said the singer died because of “creative disappointment”.

He said: “My friend was a genius and in periods of his life he was given mediocre work.”

He added: “I lost my friend at an early age because of creative disappointment. That was the cause of the problem.”
