TV star defends telling mother and baby to leave show over ‘gurgles’

A comedian who asked a mother and her baby to leave his show in Melbourne has defended his decision.

Trish Faranda said former Flight of the Conchords star Arj Barker ejected her and her daughter, Clara, whom she had tried to settle by breastfeeding.

“She was just being a baby, she gurgled a little bit… nothing loud,” Faranda told 3AW radio.

In response, Barker told The Today Show he could not see Faranda properly through stage lights so had no idea if she was breastfeeding or not.

“If it were the father I would have acted the same way... it had to do with the baby making noise,” he added.
