Terrifying footage shows California wildfire burning beneath bridge

This terrifying footage shows the billowing smoke and flames from beneath the Foresthill Bridge in Auburn, California as what started as a vegetation fire rapidly grew to more than 100 acres.

Emily Van Winkle, 33, captured the video shortly after the first flame retardant air drop and said she was “thankful” for how quickly firefighters in the area were reacting to the blaze and getting it under control.

California has experienced a particularly damaging wildfire season this year – with hot and dry conditions not aiding fire crews in tackling the infernos.
