Smoke billows from massive forest fire in residential area of Turkey

Smoke can be seen billowing from a massive forest fire in a coastal area in Turkey, as firefighters struggle to contain the blaze.

The large fire is quite clearly close to a number of houses and buildings, but there are hopes that the wind direction will mean it moves away from the residential area – and not towards it.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established but high local temperatures above 40C mean the area around the forest is dry.
