Add life to your autumn with this vibrant selection of European city destinations, courtesy of WIZZ

Your adventure starts in London Luton. An unexpected phrase, perhaps, but as WIZZ flies to 55 destinations from here, it's your holiday launch pad. Some of Europe's most vibrant destinations, from buzzing Porto to colourful Krakow, are in easy reach, so take inspiration from these five cool city break ideas...
Porto: walk around the art district

There are endless pretty streets in Porto, lined with painted tiles and iron balconies that make the perfect backdrop for a chilled out, aimless stroll around the city. But while all of Porto has a picture perfect charm, the area around Rua de Miguel Bombarda is particularly gorgeous. With tiny art galleries, cute tea shops and walls covered in street art, this is an art lover’s paradise. When you’re done, grab a coffee and a custard tart and cross over to the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, a park where you’ll find pristine flowerbeds, fountains and benches looking down over the river.
Athens: visit the Monastiraki flea market

After a souvenir or a gift for someone back home? At the Monastiraki flea market, you’ll find a tangle of little shops selling everything from tourist trinkets to handmade jewellery. It’s technically open every day of the week, but the best day to visit is a Sunday, when the pavements are filled with people peddling their wares in a more typical flea market setting. Sure, some of the stuff on sale isn’t exactly authentic, but it sure makes for a pleasant weekend amble.
Krakow: take a walk around Kazimierz

You could lose hours wandering around the neighbourhood of Kazimierz. The old Jewish Quarter of Krakow, this district has both a fascinating history and a modern day allure. Take your time exploring the streets and their numerous galleries, cool coffee shops and funky bars, or just pootling around and taking in the pieces of street art that line the walls. Learn about the history of the district by visiting one of its many museums – the Galicia Jewish Museum is a good place to start.
Riga: tour the city’s Art Nouveau architecture

A walking tour is the best way to tick off all of the best spots in a city, and the ones offered by E.A.T. Riga (eatriga.lv) are fantastic. They offer craft beer tours, vintage walks and Latvian food tastings, but if you’re a fan of the Art Nouveau architecture you see throughout the city, their specialised tour is the one to take. It’ll take you around all of Riga’s architectural gems, showcasing what the city was like at the beginning of the 20th century. It’s run every day in the summer for free, but you can also book it as a private tour throughout the year.
Warsaw: head off the beaten path

If you want to skip all of the usual tourist haunts, head to Adventure Warsaw (adventurewarsaw.pl) and see the city on their “off the beaten path” tour. You’ll shoot around the city in a retro Polish Nysa 522 minivan, and see the spots that aren’t on the typical agendas. After starting at Grzybowski Square, the tour takes in secret little city courtyards, the cool spots that only locals know about, and a local bar, where you can stop off for a cold beer. They also have tours exploring the communist period of the city, which is a must for history buffs.
