Independent Travel Awards 2015 - your chance to nominate
In sheer scale, Thomson and Thomas Cook continue to dominate - and both companies have made some good moves in the past year. Thomas Cook has moved into the transatlantic arena in a big way, with flights from Stansted to Cancun in Mexico and Manchester to Miami.
Thomson has introduced departures from Manchester to Aruba, opening up the Dutch Antilles, and has also announced the Sensimar concept - a rebrand of its Couples concept to include friends and relatives in the adults-only offering.
With the European Commission warning that climate change could lure tourists from the Mediterranean to the Baltic, Sunvil is ahead of the pack - with a west Sweden programme that includes the chance to take part in a “Lobster Safari”, as opposed to spending too long in the southern sun and simply looking like an overheated crustacean.
