Travel Agenda: Where to go and what to know in travel this week

Battle stations
New attractions at the Battle of Hastings battlefield and abbey will launch on Friday, ahead of the 950th anniversary on 14 October. English Heritage has added a new exhibition on the battle, and opened up two previously unseen areas. Visitors will be able to stand on the roof of the Great Gatehouse for the first time, and access the abbey’s dormitory, where Benedictine monks once slept. The memorial stone marking where King Harold fell has been moved, as new findings suggest the right location is further east than previously thought. english-heritage.org.uk/battleabbey
