Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Today: Enjoy a new perspective of Dublin from the brand-new 60m observation wheel, which offers 360-degree views over the capital ( worldtouristattractions.co.uk ). In Jersey, the Grassroots Festival sees Jose Gonzalez, the Fun Lovin' Criminals, an Eco Village and kids' area taking over the Val de la Mare site near St Ouen, the island's premier surfing spot ( grassroots-jersey.com).

This week: Adding to the fun of the Edinburgh Festival, Skyscanner's Festival in the Sky will be hovering over Princes Street Gardens from Sunday until 31 August. The elevated dining experience is suspended 100ft off the ground ( festivalinthesky.com ). In London, a maze will fill Trafalgar Square from Monday to Friday ( westendlondon.com ). And in Austria, check into the newest luxury hotel in Carinthia – My Lake Hotel, next to Worthersee ( mylakehotel.com ).

In the diary: The renovation of the island of Sveti Stefan in Montenegro is finally complete. From August, guests will be able to check out Amanresorts' take on the 15th-century fishing village ( amanresorts.com ).
