London Oxford Airport will see its first international flight take off. Swiss regional airline Baboo is launching weekly flights to Geneva throughout the ski season from the airport (flybaboo.com).

An alternative Christmas market is taking place in Edinburgh. Glisten! features collectibles, vintage items, home-grown food and hand-made goods in the city's Grassmarket, until Tuesday (grassmarket.net). In Thailand, Ritz-Carlton opens the first of its Reserve resorts in Phulay Bay on Tuesday. The new brand will be all about "personalised luxury", with plans for more resorts in Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and the UAE (reserve.ritzcarlton.com).
