Today: Sugar Ridge Hotel in Antigua is hosting a Trevor Nelson party as part of Jazzie B's Back II Life week, which runs on the island until Wednesday ( soul2soul.co.uk/back2life ).

This week: There's a lot going on in London, starting with an Elephant Parade on Monday, when 250 brightly decorated, life-size model elephants will be dispersed throughout the city to highlight the plight of the endangered Asian elephant; until 4 July ( elephantparadelondon.org ). On Tuesday, there's a flavour of South-east Asia at Harrods, courtesy of the Erb Thai Spa Festival, until 5 June, with treatments at the store's Urban Retreat ( harrods.com ). And on Friday, photographer Rankin opens an exhibition documenting his travels in South Africa at the Annroy Gallery in Kentish Town ( rankin.co.uk ).

Meanwhile, Soho House is opening a new hotel in a late Bauhaus building in Berlin on Tuesday ( sohohouse.com ).

In the diary: From this Friday to 23 October, Manchester gains a direct link to the island of Aruba in the southern Caribbean. Thomson is operating the weekly flights in addition to its Gatwick route ( thomson.co.uk ).
