The Bak'tun Route has launched in Guatemala, visiting 11 ancient cities associated with the Mayan calendar, which ominously ends on 21 December 2012 (visitguatemala.com/2012).
The flight
Air Europa launches the first non-stop flight from Europe to eastern Bolivia on 29 November, with a link from Madrid to Santa Cruz. Good connections from Gatwick are available (aireuropa.com).
The honeymoon
John Lewis is now offering Kuoni honeymoons as part of its wedding gift list service. Kuoni has also recently opened travel concessions in four John Lewis stores (kuoni.co.uk; johnlewis.com).
