Coast explorer

Hurtigruten, the Norwegian coastal ferry that links Bergen to the Arctic, has introduced another benefit to lure more travellers aboard: added adventure. Three departures – on 22 October, and 2 and 19 November – will carry an onboard expedition team who will lead daily hikes and organise other activities for passengers. hurtigruten.co.uk

The last in a series of museums dedicated to alpine history and culture has opened in South Tyrol, Italy. Round trip

Round-the-world flights using the Oneworld alliance of airlines become more appealing and flex-ible from 18 December, when Qantas launches a San Francisco to Sydney route. It can be combined with British Airways services to either city. Initially there will be five flights a week, increasing to six in February. qantas.com

Pedal power

Sussex safari
