Your support makes all the difference.A hotel in Dublin has been praised for its treatment of a Muslim guest who was fasting for Ramadan.
This month, Muslims around the globe are observing Ramadan, a period of deep spiritual reflection and fasting that takes place every year.
A guest of the Ibis Dublin asked the hotel for a snack before he began his fast in the morning.
But when he went down in the middle of the night, he found that the hotel had laid out a full breakfast buffet for him.
At 2.30am, he was the only person there, according to his colleague Hemant, who posted about the gesture on Twitter.
“A Muslim colleague asked our hotel if they could give him a snack before he began his fast,” he said.
“They said ok, please come down at 2.30 am. When he went, he found a FULL BUFFET BREAKFAST laid out.
He finished: “The hotel said it was the least they could do. @Accorhotels be proud of Ibis Dublin."
“Humanity is alive among the hatred,” added Hemant.
The Twitter post, which has been liked more than 100,000 times, had plenty of positive comments with users praising France’s Accor Hotels, the parent brand of Ibis.
Another user added that the Mercure Singapore, also part of the Accor Hotels group, serves a complimentary “pre-dawn meal menu” in each room for Muslims for Ramadan.
Guests then choose a time slot between 4 and 5am and their food is delivered straight to their room, Sharafat Shah said.
