Sunvil Holidays currently has a range of decent, peak-season deals to the Greek Islands. Departing on 15 August, for example, there's a seven-night stay at the Elpida Apartments, on the unspoilt island of Alonissos. The price of £589pp also includes Germania flights from Gatwick to Skiathos, followed by a 90-minute ferry transfer (sunvil.co.uk).

Scilly season
From 15 August to the end of September, The Star Castle Hotel, on St Mary's in the Isles of Scilly, is offering a four-night stay, including dinner, breakfast and return flights from Lands End, for £639pp. The offer also includes unlimited golf and access to the hotel's indoor pool and tennis court (star-castle.co.uk).
Nice and nordic
On 9 September, Hurtigruten is offering two nights' B&B at a hotel in Bergen as an extra to its 12-day "Voyage of the Vikings" cruise of Norway's coast, which departs from the southern city, before sailing up to Kirkenes and back. What's more, curator at the British Museum and Viking expert, Gareth Williams, will also be on board to bring the journey to life, with lectures, tours and excursions. There are five possible hotels to choose from, but the Radisson Blu Norge costs £1,736pp, complete with the cruise. Flights extra (hurtigruten.co.uk).
Italian job
Spend a week in a grand hotel in the beautiful hilltop town of Perugia, capital of Italy's Umbria region, for £949pp. The deal, with Kirker Holidays, includes accommodation at the Brufani Palace, with flights from Gatwick for stays until 31 August, breakfast and transfers (kirkerholidays.com).
