Good to go...flights, Mexico, Baltic break
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Etihad, the airline of the UAE's capital, Abu Dhabi, is offering air fares from Heathrow to a range of alluring destinations for under £500 this spring: Kuala Lumpur (pictured above) for £499, Jakarta for £479, Bangkok for £485 and Delhi for £429. Fares from Manchester to Beijing start at £469; all flights are via Abu Dhabi, but if you choose to end your journey here, the fare is £389. The offer is valid for travel until 30 June for bookings made by next Monday.
Mexican marvel
Bales Worldwide's sale comes to an end next Monday, with discounts of up to 15 per cent off a range of its group and tailor-made trips still available. The "Treasures of Mexico" small group itinerary has been reduced to £1,791 per person and includes flights, transfers, 13 nights' accommodation with breakfast, sightseeing with an English-speaking guide and excursions to cultural hotspots including Mexico City, Oaxaca, San Cristóbal de las Casas, Palenque, Campeche, Mérida and Chichen Itza. There are seven departures this year.
Break for the Baltic
As Scandinavia and the Baltic nations emerge from a long, dark winter, what better time to take in the water-laced region? Hurtigruten is offering savings on its "Pearls of the Baltic Sea" voyage. Departing Oslo on 25 April, the trip calls at Copenhagen (pictured above), Helsinki, St Petersburg, Tallinn and Gudhjem (Denmark) before returning to Oslo. The price of £1,261 includes 10 nights' full board onboard the ship and transfers. Flights are not included.
